Workshop: Space as story: designing from exhibition narrative

Pedro Lipovetzky (AR-ESP), ORT11.09 — 10:00–13:00

The workshop invites participants to turn a broad subject into a concrete exhibition proposal.

Working in groups, they will have to define a central question, take a point of view, connect it to the present and build a narrative organized into chapters. From there, they will select possible pieces, objects, artists, voices and resources, and think about how to translate that story into a spatial and museographic experience through design.

Pedro Lipovetzky

Designer and researcher specialized in narrative experiences. His practice combines design, critical thinking and cultural mediation to explore how exhibition environments can become meaningful communication tools.

Pedro is a co-founder of Gracias Grecia, working there on projects that span strategy, creative direction, curating, design and production. Previously he worked at Domestic Data Streamers as Head of Visuals, developing projects that combine data, narrative and interaction. Over the years he has collaborated with clients such as TED, the United Nations, CaixaForum and MANIFESTA, among others.

Alongside his professional practice, he keeps up a constant presence in education, co-directing the master’s in Design for Exhibition Environments at Elisava and teaching on other undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as workshops and lectures in the public and private spheres. He holds a degree in Graphic Design (FADU-UBA) and a master’s in Art Direction and Communication Strategies from Elisava.
