Workshop: The world cannot be understood through numbers alone
From Barcelona, Domestic Data Streamers comes to Superlocal to share a look at their practice: how to turn data, stories and complex information into experiences that can spark conversation, empathy and critical thinking.
In this session, the studio will go over part of its work in installations, exhibitions, participatory projects and visual experiences, sharing how they approach the processes of research, representation and design.
An invitation to think of data not only as numbers, but as sensitive, political and narrative material for imagining new forms of visual communication.
Domestic Data Streamers
Domestic Data Streamers is a research and design studio based in Barcelona that works at the crossing of data, art, technology and community. Since 2013 they have been exploring new ways of representing and understanding information through experiments, installations, exhibitions, participatory projects and visual experiences. Their practice starts from one central idea: the world cannot be understood without numbers, but neither can it be understood with numbers alone.
Through their projects, they turn data into stories, questions and experiences able to spark conversation, empathy and critical thinking.
